MACEY COTTAGE

We are excited for you to get involved with what's going on at Macey Cottage. We know dad/Grandpa Caswell would have wanted everyone to be able to continue to make memories at the beach house so we have set this site up to try to make it simple and easy for everyone in the family. This way you can get together with each of your individual families, work out the details together and decide if your family wants to pool your resources to enjoy the beach house each year. If you decide not to, that's okay too, we just want to make sure the opportunity is available for everyone.

In the past, Dad was always very generous and paid for the 'Caswell portion' of the expenses to maintain the beach house on behalf of our family. This has been such a blessing for all of us. Now that dad is gone, all of us need to share in the expenses of maintaining the beach house.

Each summer there will be 18 available weeks (First week in June to the first weekend in October) to use the beach house. Once we divide those weeks with the other extended family members, the “Caswell portion” will be 9 weeks total. That means each of the 3 individual families (Tori, Bobby, & Chris) will have 3 weeks to spend at the beach house.

HERE'S HOW THE PAYMENT FOR EACH FAMILY WILL WORK:

- Families planning to use The Beach House for the current Summer year will need to pay $1500 by the deadline of April 30th.

- Additional $1,000 security deposit (full or partial returned upon leaving depending upon the condition of the beach house when left

can use credit card, ALONG WITH…. Venmo or Zelle by April 30th deadline

- If your family's payment is not received by April 30th, your opportunity to use the beach house for the current year will be forfeited.

- Once your payment is received, we will coordinate dates for the 3 different weeks your family will stay. Depending on availability, this will not be 3 consecutive weeks.

- Your family's payment of $1500 (Plus the security deposit) for a total of $2500 for the year will remain the same irrespective of whether you use The Beach House 1 to 3 weeks
- The earlier your payment is received, the earlier you will get to choose your week(s).

BEACH HOUSE RULES AND EXPECTATIONS

1.) No SMOKING inside the beach house.

2.) No UNSUPERVISED MINORS (under 21 years old).

3.) No YOUTH GROUPS unless supervised by a Parent at the beach house (day and night).

4.) No SINGLE ADULT guests of the opposite sex (unless they’re with Parents).

5.) Bring your own TOWELS, TOILET PAPER, & SHEETS.

6.) SERVICE DONATION like chopping wood and mowing the lawn each week would be expected by anyone staying at the beach house.

7.) Any repairs, maintenance or upgrades to the beach house need to be cleared through Christin. This includes but is not limited to painting, plumbing, decorations, etc.

8.) If you break something, you will be required to FIX IT or REPLACE IT!

NOTE: Any costs incurred by non compliance to the above rules and expectations will be taken care of and will be charged to the credit card on file. If there is no card on file the expenses will need to be paid ahead of time.

CLEANING THE BEACH HOUSE

The following will need to be completed at the end of your stay to make this more enjoyable for the next guests.

1.) Ajax the sinks, toilets, and bathtub

2.) Sweep out the upstairs and downstairs, including bathrooms.

3.) Clean out the ashes in the fireplace.

4.) Clean out the fridge and take home or throw away any remaining food.

5.) Take home all garbage and replace garbage bag liners

6.) Any guests returning from the beach needs to rinse off outside before taking a

shower. This will help prevent the pipes from getting clogged.

7.) If you bring a pet, clean up all waste and vacuum all furniture and bedding.

8). Lock all windows and doors before you leave

NOTE: If any cleaning is required after your stay, cleaning specialists will be hired to complete the tasks and costs will be charged to the credit card on file. If there is no card on file the expenses will need to be paid ahead of time.

Dad would be happy to know that each of us is contributing. At the beach house, one of the forms that Dad had hanging on the wall said, “with the ownership of the property also comes the responsibility of maintenance and taxes… which means money.”
